Scratch Will Ferrell as the replacement for Steve Carell on “The Office.”

Ferrell has been rumored to be joining the NBC series because he is appearing in four episodes at the end of this season leading up to Carell’s departure, which has already been filmed.

Rainn “Dwight Schrute” Wilson, appearing on Tuesday’s “Ellen,” said it isn’t going to happen.

“I don’t think the 20 million he makes per movie is going to allow him to do that. But no, he’s not staying on. It’s just for a short period of time. He’s the coolest guy. He literally called our producers and said, ‘I heard Steve is leaving. I’m a huge fan of the show. I’m a huge fan of Steve’s. I’m a good friend of Steve’s. What can I do?’

“And they’re like, ‘Well, come on and do 4 episodes.’ And he just did it.”

Also appearing on the final episode are Will Arnett and Ricky Gervais, who originated the role in Great Britain that Carell plays on NBC.

My feeling is, “The Office” has had a great run and Carell’s exit should be the catalyst to end it.

Chris Brown Apologizes For 'Good Morning America' Outburst

Chris Brown had a bad morning on Tuesday. For that, he's very sorry.

The singer, who let out an emotional outburst backstage after a contentious interview on "Good Morning America," addressed his allegedly violent, window-smashing tirade on the BET music video countdown show, "106 & Park."

"First of all, I want to apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, or anybody who was offended or really looked, and [was] disappointed at my actions," Brown said on the show (via RadarOnline). "Because I'm disappointed in the way I acted."

"I felt like they told us this just so they could get us on the show so they can exploit me," Brown said. "So I took it very, very hard and I really kinda kept my composure throughout the whole interview, although you can see me upset, I kept my composure, I did my performance.

"And when I got back I just let off steam. I didn't physically hurt anyone, I didn't try to hurt anyone, I just wanted to release the anger that I had inside me because I felt that I worked so hard for this music and I felt like people kept just trying to take it away from me."

Brown's outburst came after repeated questioning by co-anchor Robin Roberts about the 2009 incident in which he inflicted a devastating beating on his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.

In a statement that followed the incident, Roberts said that she had a good relationship with Brown, was shocked by his outburst, and invited him back to the show.

What’s up with the Vera Bradley obsession?

A writer over on Cafe Mom asked a similar question yesterday and I found myself nodding in agreement.

Vera Bradley is hugely popular, I know. I can’t leave the house in the Capital Region without seeing someone with a patterned bag and everyone from tweens to diaper bag-totin’ moms wear Vera Bradley on their arm.

Stores in the area market themselves as carrying Vera to lure you in and people celebrate on Twitter or Facebook when they finally score one of the quilted goodies and yet I can’t even see myself carrying one if I got it as a gift.

I just don’t get the fascination. Not only are those suckers expensive, but the whole idea of your wallet matching your handbag which also matches your tote/carry-on is a little too JCPenney 1988 for me (my Nana used to buy Cindy and me little leather — pleather? — handbags with matching wallets attached inside for Christmas when we were little).

It could also be that I’m not a huge fan of fussy/busy clothing or accessories (ex: I don’t care for Lily Pulitzer, either) or maybe I’m just too focused on loving fannypacks to move forward into 2011 where people fawn over (and knock off) Vera Bradley like it’s Coach or, more impressively, Gucci.

Hand-held clutching's all well and good, but it can become tiresome by the end of the day. Thankfully Vera Bradley adds a removable wrist strap for those times we want to go hands free.

Vera Bradley's crammed a lot of value into this purse, which helps to justify its price tag of $45. That's a bit expensive for a Vera Bradley bag, especially one so small, but I'm still seriously tempted.

Case in point: Rose McGowan. The "Charmed" vet and "Planet Terror" actress played a swinger named Cassandra, who needed to be questioned by Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) when one of her fellow swingers winds up dead.

So what did you think of her? Personally, we love any dose of McGowan we can get, especially if she's playing the overly sexual type. Like her horribly underrated turn as a homicidal high school nympho in  "Jawbreaker."

Angelina Jolie Is a 'Shockingly Great' Mom

Johnny Depp was incredibly impressed with his Tourist co-star Angelina Jolie, who juggles raising her six kids with a successful movie career.

He said: "She is such a versatile, wonderful person who can portray anything. She is a down to earth, clever, funny, woman and shockingly great mother.

"She is very calm even if she’s surrounded by paparazzi. I don’t know what I would do. I could’ve been in prison by now!"

Russell Brand Won Over Helen Mirren with Hard Work and Charm

Helen Mirren says she's come to adore Russell Brand, but at first she was "terrified" of working with the British comic because of his bad boy reputation.

The Oscar-winning actress stars with Russell in two new movies, The Tempest and Arthur, but admits she was worried about how she would get on with the reformed hellraiser.

During an appearance on British morning TV show Daybreak, she said: “I’m a bit infatuated with him. But I was terrified because, you know, it’s Russell Brand! Like the bad boy of bad boys. And I’m not a bad girl, I’m a good girl. And when good girls meet bad boys, terrible things can happen – mostly to the good girls.”

Despite her concerns, Helen and Russell -- who is married to Katy Perry -- struck up a great relationship on both sets and she has nothing but praise for him.

The 65-year-old star -- who plays Prospera in The Tempest, which is based on Shakespeare’s play of the same name -- said: “We did Arthur together which was really wonderful and it kind of sealed our relationship. Will Jessica Simpson Be a Judge on the New 'X Factor?'

Jessica Simpson is reportedly at the top of Simon Cowell's list to take on one of the coveted judging positions on The X Factor when it launches later this year.

A source told People: "There [are] loads of conversations happening at the moment. No one has been offered a judging role yet as new names keep coming forward who want the role, but there are some frontrunners and it's fair to say Jessica is one of them. She's very keen.

"She knows what she is talking about [and] is talented and likable. But Simon's not in a rush to decide. The judges have to mentor on The X Factor -- it's more than just turning up for a few hours a week to appear on TV."

Jessica is not the only person in the frame for a role, it was revealed yesterday that record executive Tony Mottola -- ex-husband of Mariah Carey and former boss of Sony Music -- is also being considered.

An insider said: "Simon and Tommy have known each other for years since their days at Sony and Simon has wanted to get Tommy on board one of his shows for a long time.

"They get on extremely well and this could be the moment where they finally get on screen together. Tommy's from the Bronx in New York, he's tough talking, doesn't pull any punches and will make great TV."

Willow Smith Fell Asleep in Front of Jay-Z When They First Met

Willow Smith is signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label, but she admits their first meeting didn't quite go as planned.

She said: “When I met with him (Jay-Z) in Japan I was so tired because I was hanging out the night before and had been dancing and having fun and I didn't know we had to meet Jay-Z that next morning so  I went to sleep at, like, 4 am and I fell asleep in the meeting!”

But the singer insists she didn’t miss anything important and was able to pretend she was awake because she was wearing dark glasses.

She added in an interview with UK station BBC Radio 1: “I had glasses and so I was, like, nodding along, but they were listening to the song and he was just talking to my mom and dad. But I was really tired. I was probably asleep for, like, 10 minutes of it. But I didn't miss anything (really good), that's the cool part I only missed the parts where he was explaining to my mom and dad where we're gonna be going and when we were gonna drop the single, stuff like that -- although I guess that's important. Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy Buy a London Home

Kate Hudson is putting down some roots with beau Matt Bellamy! The couple, who are expecting their first child together later this year, reportedly just plunked down about $6 million on a home in North London.

An insider explained: "Kate is ready to put down roots in the UK. She is in the process of filling out visa forms that will enable her to live in England with Matt for at least six months of the year. Kate looks at the UK as a great place to raise a family. She sees herself living and working from London for the long haul."

The pair are hoping to move into the property, which comes complete with a nursery, games room and guest rooms, as soon as renovations are complete, and are also looking at holiday homes in Cornwall near the 32-year-old rocker's parents' house in Devon, South West England.

Matt and Kate - who also has a seven-year-old son Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson - are said to be so ecstatic about their new home that they have already taken Kate's Hollywood legend mother Goldie Hawn and stepdad Kurt Russell to look around the area.

The source added to Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper: "Matt and Kate have shown Goldie and Kurt around the area and Matt took them all to Devon to meet his parents. They also looked around Cornwall for a holiday home."

However, Kate recently admitted she was "unsure" about moving to the UK on a permanent basis. She said: "I'll obviously be spending a lot more time in London bit I'm not sure about moving - not yet! We'll probably split it 50/50 - I do love it here and surprisingly I do love the weather. It's so nice to have seasons."

January Jones Reveals Her Off-Duty Pastimes

January Jones is now a big star thanks to her hit show Mad Men, but the actress says she's not really too into the Hollywood lifestyle -- she's pretty happy watching sports and drinking beer while not at work.

The 33-year-old star even said she misses watching her favorite games when she travels to places where they're not televised as much. She said: "I remember when I was in London last year it was pretty tough to see football."

January also confessed to a habit of chewing tobacco – but insists she tries to do it in as ladylike a manner as possible. Explaining where she would spit it out, she said: "Not a bucket! A bottle or a cup or something. I tried to be a little discreet. I'm not a total hick."

The blonde star seems unbothered about having a glamorous Hollywood existence, also revealing she likes doing normal things when she's not working. She said: "I'm very good at being off. You know, running errands, having lunch with friends, taking my dog to the park."

Jessica Alba, 'Sex and the City' Ladies Win Razzies

The Oscars honor the best in movies this evening, but last night's Golden Raspberry Awards were all about picking out the worst in film from 2010 -- all in good fun, of course. The flick The Last Airbender cleaned up with 5 Razzies, while Sex and the City 2 also won a few.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Get Close on the Dance Floor at Pre-Oscar Party

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart apparently cut a rug last night at a pre-Oscar party at Chateau Marmont. The Twilight stars reportedly danced the night away and went "nuts" to the musical stylings of DJ Jesse Marco, reports Us magazine.

These two have been busy filming Breaking Dawn in Vancouver and apparently are back in LA to attend the Oscars tonight. Mandy Moore's dress she wore to the Oscars was stunning. Absolutely stunning and original and... probably expensive. It was made by Monique Lhuillier and made the hosts of the red carpet stumble over themselves.

Mandy is a modern day Disney princess as the voice of Rapunzel in Tangled. Her song for the movie, "I See the Light," is nominated for an Academy Award and Mandy is performing the song live with Zachary Levi. Catch her later this year opposite Kellan Lutz in First Love, Then Marriage.

Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner Get Cozy at the Oscars

A single Scarlett Johansson looked stunning on the Oscars red carpet this evening, and part of that was due to her beautiful gown, and part of that was because of her wide smile while on the arm of Jeremy Renner! The two smiled and touched while the photographers snapped away, leading us to believe they're one of Hollywood's hottest new items.

THE LILLIAN ROTH STORY

I am really enjoying the old movies that I order from Netflix. Recently I watched the 1954 movie “I’ll Cry Tomorrow”. It stars Susan Hayward. She was one of my favorites back in my impressionable teen years but I’d missed this one.

It is the story of Lillian Roth, a child movie star of the 20’s. She was very successful but her career was hampered by her addiction to alcohol and she spent the latter years of the 1930’s out of the limelight and spiraling deeper into alcoholism. She finally “hit bottom” in 1946 and sought out AA.

Anyone who has read my blog knows that I have enjoyed the past 19 years as a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous. It has been a huge influence in my life and I was intrigued to watch how (or if) it would work for Lillian. After all, this was 1946 and AA had only been in existence for eleven years.

Sure enough, after contemplating suicide, Lillian finally drags herself to an AA meeting. It was very interesting to see how the members detoxed her. Nowadays this is seldom done except in a hospital or a rehab. I am always fascinated by the really old members of AA who actually remember using small doses of alcohol to taper off a person so they won’t die from DT’s.

Also of interest were the scenes of the actual AA meetings. They were very similar to those that we hold today. What was different was that a man, Burt McGuire, became her sponsor. I can only speak for our area of the country, but here it’s considered best for a woman to have a female sponsor.

Lillian ended up marrying Burt and he became her agent. That is where the movie ended but the rest of her life is just as compelling. In 1953, after much soul searching and against Burt‘s advice, she appeared on an episode of the TV series “This Is Your Life” with Ralph Edwards. In response to relating her story of alcoholism she received more than forty thousand letters.

This is always a tricky thing for us in AA. You would think that a story like hers would be a good way to advertise AA but we advocate attraction rather than promotion. Our 11th Tradition states, in part…”we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.” The problem is that so often when a celebrity claims sobriety through AA he or she relapses and there goes the credibility of the program. Burt had tried to explain this to her but she opted to do the TV show anyway.

After 18 years of sobriety Lillian relapsed in 1964 and her sober days and her marriage were over. She spent the final 15 years of her life with 3 dogs and a woman companion. The inscription on her marker in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Westchester County, NY reads: “As bad as it was it was good”.
