Prince William Celebrates Top-Secret Bachelor Party

Prince William's bachelor weekend appears to have passed without a hitch, as details on the top-secret festivities remain scarce.

A rep for the Princes confirmed that a "stag party" had taken place, but divulged absolutely nothing else. Tabloids had speculated the party would include boating and water sports on the English Channel.

It must be comforting for Kate Middleton, knowing that privacy is at all possible.

Lady Gaga Sings with Mariachi Band at Her 25th Birthday Party

Happy quarter-century, Lady Gaga! The singer turns 25 today and celebrated her big day with 60 close friends over the weekend in LA.

Lady Gaga is 25! (Bauer Griffin)
Gaga held her party at La Cita, a low-key Mexican hotspot, and turned the dinner into a mini concert! She took the stage with the restaurant's Mariachi band and belted out some of her hits, including "Born This Way" and some Madonna hits. Luckily, her "Born This Way" rendition was caught on video!

(So, add that to her Country Road remix of the new hit single, and that makes three awesome "Born This Way" versions!)

A source at the party said (via Us magazine) "she was onstage for most of the night performing for all her friends. No one knew she was going to go up there and perform with them, I think she just loves to be on stage and doing what she does so well."

Apparently there were several birthday cakes at her party, and while she wasn't at the mic in her sparkling black dress, she walked around and gabbed with her friends while nibbling on cake. "She was walking around saying hi to everyone," the source said. "It was an amazing night."

Best April Fools Day Pranks Pulled By Celebs

Later this week, we’ll be celebrating April Fool’s Day 2011, and so you can expect some celebrity pranks for sure!

The first recorded incident of April 1st and foolery is in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, however, just where the origin of the holiday comes from is really unknown. April Fool’s Day is simple enough for all of us to participate in – play a fun prank or two on friends or family.

Celebs are always full of mischief and looking for fun – here are some really funny celeb pranks that have taken place over the past years. Enjoy!

Do you ever watch the TV show The Soup? Host Joel McHale is continuously mocking American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest as part of his comedy show. As reported by The Examiner, Last April Fool’s Day, McHale somehow managed to shut down RyanSeacrest.com and hacked into Ryan Seacrest’s Twitter account! He even replaced Ryan’s photos to ones of himself and tweeted, “Anyone know how to bake cookies?”

Last year there was another April Fool’s Day prank on Twitter. Singer Joe Jonas decide to fake out his fans by saying that he broke his leg.

Justin Bieber also joined in on pranks last April 1st. On the very funny website Funny or Die, a message was posted that said: ”Justin Bieber has decided to buy Funny or Die and do with it whatever his tiny little heart desires.” A video clip featuring Bieber shows the singer saying, “I’m a star. I do what stars do. I ride on yachts. I autograph lady lumps. And I pay people to slap them.”

Nurse Jackie Season 3: Expect More Drugs, Lies and Relationship Mishaps

Nurse Jackie Season 3 is officially here, and viewers have a lot to look forward to in the 12-episode season.

Season 3 picks up right on the same scene where Season 2 left off – Jackie (Edie Falco) staring into the bathroom mirror after Dr. O’Hara (Eve Best) and Kevin (Dominic Fumusa) confronted her for abusing drugs. As co-creator Linda Wallem stated, this season will not be the season of “Jackie goes to rehab.”

Instead, viewers can look forward to more drugs, lies and relationship mishaps. The 12 episodes will delve further into Jackie’s drug addiction, while simultaneously opening up the show to the supporting cast. We’ll see drug dealers of the past show up to stake their claim in Jackie’s downward spiral of a life. Yet, she still keeps All Saints working like clockwork.

Thor (Stephen Wallem) steps up in a major way, easily grabbing laughs and empathetic smiles as his bond with Dr. Cooper (Peter Facinelli) goes through a subtle metamorphosis. We’ll also see Stephen’s singing chops displayed in the last two episodes of the season.

In Season 2 we saw the beginnings of Zoey’s (Merritt Wever) relationship with Lenny (Lenny Jacobson). We’ll see how their relationship progresses in the third season, however don’t expect anything too deep. The creative team has given Wever just enough room to flex some different qualities in Zoey’s character. For starters, we start to see Zoey take on some more Jackie-like qualities. You’ll have to tune in to see what happens.

Dr. Cooper antics once again come in abundance. His relationship with Eddie (Paul Schulze) will take a subtle turn, and we’ll see just how strong or weak their friendship is by the finale. Also, Dr. Cooper’s two moms will make an appearance, which may shake things up and add an overdose of family laughs. Don’t worry. Coop is still as childish as ever. Although there will be more drama, it doesn’t come at the cost of any of the dark humor.....

Freshman Enrollment Reaches Record 1,067

Butler University will welcome the largest freshman class in its history, with 1,067 freshmen, when move-in begins Aug. 21-22.
The number far exceeds Butler’s fall enrollment target of 923 and its 2009 freshman count of 946. Total full-time undergraduate enrollment is expected to reach 4,055. Classes begin Aug. 25.
A University task force has been working since June to expand existing campus services, staffing and programs to accommodate the larger class.
To ease overcrowding, 20 rooms in Butler’s Schwitzer and Ross residence halls have been converted from two-person occupancy to temporary triples; they have been offered to freshmen at a reduced cost. Forty-one returning students volunteered to move into apartments on Haughey Avenue, adjacent to the campus, which are owned by Christian Theological Seminary.
The students in Butler’s Class of 2014 come from 36 states and four different countries; 24 freshmen are international. One hundred and thirty-three freshmen — some 12.3 percent of the total class — are multicultural, up from 98 in 2009.
The freshmen claim impressive high school academic achievements, earning an average GPA of 3.69 (on a 4.0 scale). Ten are National Merit/National Achievement scholars; 49 of them were valedictorians; 19 were salutatorians. Thirty-three are Lilly Scholars.
Setting another Butler record, the class has 161 legacy students [descendants of alumni], up from the previous high of 104 in 2009. (See additional distinctions for Butler's incoming freshmen.)
“This is an exciting time for Butler University,” said Levester Johnson, vice president for Student Affairs. “The impressive size of our incoming class is a direct result of our community’s extraordinary efforts. Staff and faculty will work together to offer our new freshmen, and returning students, the best possible undergraduate experience.”
Some 95 percent of Butler’s 2009 freshmen are returning to the University this fall, as compared to the national average freshmen-to-sophomore retention rate of 80 percent.
Tournament Effect on Student GrowthDid Butler’s strong performance in this spring’s NCAA men’s basketball tournament cause the enrollment bounce? There’s no simple “yes” or “no” answer, said Vice President for Enrollment Management Tom Weede.
“The tournament began March 17, two weeks after we had mailed the last notices to students admitted for fall, so there was no effect there.”
Tournament publicity likely motivated some admitted students to complete the enrollment process, he said. Butler’s yield, or total of admitted students who enrolled for fall, rose from19 percent to 22 percent, after a 10-year decline. Additional outreach by admission staffers to admitted students probably affected those numbers as well, Weede said.
Other changes in admission numbers between fall 2009 and fall 2010:
· Applications rose 8 percent from 6,241 to 6,759.
· The University lowered its acceptance rate from 79 percent to 73 percent of applicants.
· Total students offered admission was intentionally kept near the same level — 4,945 in 2010 versus 4,925 in 2009.
Weede predicted that Butler will see more admission impact from the tournament spotlight in 2010-2011. “Other schools that have had significant news coverage during a tournament run have seen application increases of 7–20 percent,” he said.
