Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay has an exciting new addition to her family: She and husband Peter Hermann have adopted a 1-week-old daughter, Amaya Josephine.
According to People, Hargitay and Hermann asked their 4-year-old son August for help naming their new baby girl. "I threw out my name and he threw out his name and I said, 'August, why do you get to name the baby?' And he said, because it's my idea.
Hargitay gushed of her new daughter, "We talked a lot about mixed-race adoptions, and we are bery excited that we are not a multi-racial family. We're just so happy she's here........
